How to Read Food Labels
Here's a short video with some info about what to look for on food labels AND how to "look" for information that labels do not disclose. While your best bet is to only eat "one" ingredient foods, there are ways to navigate food labels when you want to choose food to have on hand that is "convenient".
When eating anything in a package, always avoid seed oils and look for foods that are glyphosate-free. You may have to contact the company and ask questions, especially when it comes to glyphosate.
Recently, I contacted Purely Elizabeth - a company with gluten-free granola and oats. I asked if they had glyphosate in their products as even “organic” oats have been found to contain glyphosate.
I received confirmation that they only used organic oats from companies that tested for glyphosate. After hearing this news, Purely Elizabeth passes the safe-to-eat test which is great news especially for many of you who have children who want safe snacks.
Purely Elizabeth granola can be an acceptable occasional snack for you and your family but watch for the seed oils that are in some of the products that contain fruit.
