For many the coffee enema is undoubtedly the hardest procedure to add to your program. Many clients are squeamish and think the idea of any enema is gross. At one time I shared your apprehensions but after being educated on the benefits of the procedure and learning more and more about the toxicity of our current environment I realized it was very beneficial in cleansing the body of parasite, toxins while supporting the liver.

Imagine seeing the gutters of your home filled with debris and thinking it was okay to just leave it alone. Unfortunately, we cannot see the gunk lining our intestines and colon. We cannot see how clogged the liver is and how all that sludge keeps the liver from doing its main job – detoxing the body.

By the time we know we have an issue, we have more than likely been diagnosed with a disease. A disease that may have been avoided if the liver had been able to detox the body efficiently. Put aside all your fears, feelings of disgust and/or negative thoughts about coffee enemas and embrace their amazing health benefits.

MY FAVORITE COFFEE ENEMA RECIPE - YIELDS 2 COFFEE ENEMAS

  1. Start with 2 cups of distilled or filtered water. Add 3 to 6 tablespoons of coffee to the water. (The Gerson method recommends using 3 tablespoons per enema, but I use less). You can adjust the coffee based on your personal preference and tolerance to caffeine.

  2. Use medium to dark roast organic coffee.

  3. Bring the water to a boil and cook for 12 minutes. Do not overcook.

  4. Add more distilled water to make 4 cups. This method allows the coffee to cool quickly so you can use it soon after it is prepared.

  5. Use two cups of coffee for each enema. If you only plan to do one enema, store the remaining coffee in the refrigerator for no more than a day.

  6. You can do two coffee enemas back-to-back and if you are having healing reactions, you can do as many as four coffee enemas per day.

I highly recommend using the single near infrared heat lamp while doing the coffee enema. Shine the lamp over the abdominal region about 12 to 24 inches away from your body while retaining the coffee enema. This will help you relax, and the lamp is great therapy for detoxing the body and aids in supporting the liver.

Try meditating while retaining the coffee enema. This can be a great way to incorporate several procedures into your lifestyle while making effective use of your time.

I have found that enema supplies usually need to be purchased online and are not available in most local stores. You can purchase a plastic or stainless-steel bucket for a reasonable price. Glass enema containers are an option, and a good investment, but also more costly.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS FOR SUCCESS COFFEE ENEMAS:

  1. Do not place the bucket too high as the coffee will flow too quickly making it hard to retain. If the bucket is too low, the coffee won’t flow. Place the bucket about 2 1/2 feet above your body for ideal flow.

  2. Make sure the tube is fastened securely to the bucket, so it does not drip or spill.

  3. The coffee should be around body temperature. If it is too hot or too cold, it will be hard to retain.

  4. Insert the tube about 3 inches into the rectum so the coffee can enter the body and not spill on the floor. Use lubricant, if needed, to insert the tube. Coconut oil or olive oil work well as lubricant.

  5. Take deep breathes and relax as this makes it easier to retain the enema.

  6. Trouble holding the enema is usually a sign of intestinal gas. Before doing the enema, try expelling gas by bending at the waist and putting light pressure on the stomach. Also leaving the enema tip inside you with the clamp open will allow any extra gas to escape back into the bucket. Make sure the bucket is higher than the body or this will not work.

  7. You may place a small pillow, or rolled up towel, under the buttocks so the pelvic is tipped. This allows the water to flow downwards into the colon.

  8. You may rub the lower left side of the abdominal region in an upward motion to move the water towards the colon. This helps alleviate cramping which may occur as the body moves bile, feces, and toxins out of the liver and small intestines. Deep breathing is good for cramping and increases relaxation.

  9. If retention is a consistent problem, try using less water and/or less coffee. After you acclimate to the process, you can increase the water and coffee to the recommended amount.

  10. Doing reflexology after a coffee enema can be very effective especially if you have any pain or discomfort in the abdominal region. Focus on the colon reflex areas of the feet as well as the tops of the toes on the left foot.

  11. If the anal area is irritated, try using more lubricant. If that does not work, try adding one or two tablespoons of aloe vera juice to the coffee liquid. (You may want to check with your practitioner before doing this).

  12. If sensitive to the caffeine in coffee, try reducing the amount of coffee added to the enema. Start with a pinch of coffee and slowly work up to the recommended amount, if possible.

  13. You may do just water enemas to start if you are highly sensitive to even a little caffeine in the coffee. If you find you are extremely gassy, do a quick water enema before the coffee enema. This can help with retention of the coffee enema.

  14. Ideally retain the enema for 10 to 15 minutes or even up to an hour, if possible, and when you have time.

CLEAN UP

Emptying the coffee. When you are ready to expel the coffee, go to the toilet and empty out the coffee solution. Some water may remain inside which usually means you are somewhat dehydrated. Please make sure you are drinking enough water.

If you are drinking enough water and this continues to be an issue, you may want to switch to a different brand of water. However, it is fine if no coffee comes out and this no cause for worry if you water intake is adequate.

A bidet toilet attachment cleans the bottom very quickly. If you don’t have this device, make sure to clean your body carefully.

Washing out the enema equipment. Wash the tube, the bag or bucket, and the tip thoroughly with soap and water, and hang them up to dry. It is not necessary to sterilize them.
